Trying to create a subdomain but it won’t work

Hey guys, i’m trying to install site1.com/site2 wordpress on my site1.

I’ve already have the site1.com perfectly working, and i’ve installed via Filezilla, under /public_html directory.

So, to have the working site1.com/site2, I should create a new directory inside /public_html/site2 and instal wordpress there, right? The thing is i cannot get the database to establish a connection after i try to access it to finish installing wordpress. What should I do?

The info about DB_name, host, user and passwords are all correct.
