Trying to create a child theme for Buddypress, editing index file no effect

  • I’m trying to create a site with BuddyPress (my first) and have created a child theme.

    Copied the css, header and footers into /wp-content/themes/bp-childtheme/, can edit them and see changes, but if I copy the index.php into there and edit, the changes aren’t picked up.

    How do I change the main layout?
