trying to connect to tumblr gives 500 internal server error

  • Installed the plugin. Created app on Tumblr. When configuring plugin, I enter the OAuth Consumer Key and Secret Key – upon clicking Connect with Tumblr, I get 500 internal server error.

    It appears that the .htaccess file is updated in a way that WordPress does not like. I have to restore an old .htaccess file to resolve server error.

    I have not found anything related in my searching for answers … pls help / give thoughts??

    The tumblr-importer does not modify your .htaccess file. So, if that’s changing, then something else is doing it.

    Hmm interesting…thanks for the quick and good feedback! Some other interaction somewhere, as .htaccess changes up Connect with Tumblr… strange.
