• I’m developing a site for a client. They just need a simple list of PDF files that are their newsletter archive. There are 124 of them. I know I can manually add each one but I was looking for a way to have them recognized and displayed more simply. I long time ago I used a plugin that’s perfect for my needs but they no longer exist and when I install my old copy of it there are php errors (not surprising). So I’m looking for something simple. I don’t need the public to be able to upload, just view the list and view each file or download it only. This is an example from the obsolete plugin, scroll down to the file list:

Can I do this with the free version? How?
If I need to buy the pro version is it a one time fee or annual?

    Thanks.

    Hi Sheila,

The free version will do the basics of what you need. However, the files will be displayed in a single table rather than the expanding folders. If you do want to organize into folders, you would need the Pro version.

As for adding the files, you can use FTP or similar to put them into the file list directory directly, which is located here…

    /wp-content/uploads/simple-file-list/

The plugin will index any new files the next time it loads the file list, front or back.
