Truncate the Title

I am using this new theme that is pretty cool but when I try and bring RSS feeds in the normal way, importing format seems different than a regular blog post formats. The RSS title is coming where the date of the blog post should be. The theme designer will say it is the plugin and I would guess you would say it is the theme. Any ideas how to hand code something so the RSS arrives just like a regular post.
