Trouble with uploading media for newsletters

  • I have a church webpage and place monthly newsletters on it. I do the newsletters in a PDF file. I upload the current one into my media but the problem comes that when it uploads it, it does it in an attachment. I don’t want that. I have done everything what I’m supposed to but can’t get it to upload without the attachment. Because of the form of uploading I never get the next page to insert the file. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

  • I am not sure what version of WordPress you are using, but this plugin works with WordPress 3.5.2. I have tested it in 3.6.1 with excellent results but it is not officially supported beyond 3.5.2

    The code is pretty simple and can be modified to suit your needs. You select the PDF using the Insert Media in a post or page and it automatically adds the shortcode to both Display the PDF as an embedded file and to provide a download link.
