• Hi – I’m new to wordpress and my technical prowess is low. I wanted to change the font on my site title from the generic to something a little more imaginative, so I found one called Tall Paul, which was perfect. I did a little digging and inserted some code in my css, and it worked. Great, I thought. But now, I’ve just loaded my site on my laptop (I made the changes using my desktop) and the font is back to the original generic one!

I went back to my desktop and sure enough, when I open my site on that PC I have the new font! And I’m not even logged into my site, I’m literally just clicking on it the way any visitor would. Why would there be a different font displaying depending on the PC I use?

    Thank you.

  • It could be you have a cached version on your laptop. Have you tried different browsers on both your desktop and laptop to compare?

    Hi Gabe

Thanks, I have tried it on my desktop using both chrome and internet explorer and both have the correct (i.e. intended) font. I just looked on my mobile as well, which I hadn’t thought of before, and that is also displaying the basic (unintended) font.

I did change the font before using a plugin, but when the plugin started to glitch, I realised I had to do something in CSS. So using CSS I managed to get the font I wanted. When I removed the plugin, obviously all custom fonts reverted back to standard ones. It’s just that for some reason on my laptop and any other device apparently, the change I made to CSS hasn’t activated.

Thanks for your help, sorry if I am being a novice here. Appreciate your patience.

    Matt
