• I’ve just uploaded WordPress 2.7, along with a few themes, but none of the images for the themes are showing up. There aren’t any thumbnails (just empty boxes) in the admin section of my site. And I can activate the themes, but none of the images for the themes show up on my site. The Default and Classic themes work fine.

    Any advice?

  • You should doublecheck to make sure you uploaded the entire theme folders, and also that they were uploaded into the wp-content/themes folder.

Some modern themes come inside a folder and a subfolder within the theme folder has to be taken out of the outer folder and placed directly within the WP themes folder. The instructions for the theme would indicate if this is necessary.

Thanks, sorry! I’ve figured it out. I’m using a friend’s hosting plan, and he had it set strangely so I couldn’t use images. It’s all fixed now; nothing to do with WordPress. I spent all afternoon trying to figure this out!

I’m having the same problem. What was it you had to change in your settings at your host? I used “Fantastico”, at Host Gator to install WP, so it should not apply to me. But I would feel better if could rule it out…
