• Hi!

On Monday I installed WordPress 4.5.2 on my website (https://www.outcast.it/) and I ended up getting the database update infinite loop bug. Or at least it looks like it’s this thing I read about while looking for info on my situation.

I’m stuck getting the request for database update: if I start it, after a while I get a blank screen and after that, if I try to access WordPress, I get again the request. The public site is fine, but obviously I cannot do anything on it.

Plugins are deactivated (which by the way means that not only I cannot update the site, but also all the podcasts are now broken, since we use the Powerpress plugin for them). We tried many different suggested solutions, like changing the db value, clearing the cache and so on, but nothing seems to work.

Is there any chance that someone here could tell me the way to go just by having a look at the site?

    Thanks a lot!

The loop generally means you have some caching stuck.

Can you ask your host if they have memcached and, if so, can they flush it?

I asked him about it and his answer is basically “I don’t know what you’re asking me to do”. It looks like I’m in good hands.

Is there absolutely no way to operate on the site with the loop going on?
    I’m kinda stuck…

“I don’t know what you’re asking me to do”.

If your host has no idea what memcached is and how to flush it, the odds are you don’t have it, so there’s that. However if you host has no idea what memcached IS, you need a new host.

Do you have a file like opcache.php or such in your wp-content folder?

Can you try doing a database optimize?

Hi, sorry for not pointing this out, but I asked some help to a friend who solved the issue doing some magic I don’t even understand. That being said, I think I’m gonna change hosting service. ??

    Thanks!
