• let me try to make this simple. its messy in my head.

I built a site using a secondary hosted (mirror) domain, with a WP install.

so I have the WP install and all files copied to the actual hosted account, but want to use the same Mysql db from the secondary install, obviously, as all my data is there. i looked this up on the forum and got tips about doing full backup/transfer then just copying the wp-config file.

here is what is weird. Primary site is “thewheatpool.com” and secondary is “thewheatpool.dreamhosters.com”. when I switch the config file in the primary to point to the DB built with the secondary, the home page will come up, but all pages and posts can’t be found.

*IF* I switch the general settings in WP for the domain and blog back to “thewheatpool.dreamhosters.com” then the home page still comes up as “thewheatpool.com” but NOW the pages/posts will work, and show as “thewheatpool.dreamhosters.com/page”.

I’m confused. I thought by fully copying the old files into the primary install, fixing the config and general settings, that this should work.

does this make sense and can anyone tell me what i am missing? Help! site is live!
