• I am trying to install WordPress.I went to www.remarpro.com, downloaded it, un zipped and did all the correct setup, created a database and changed wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and typed what was necessary in there but when I try to install, this message comes up:

There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started.

Need more help? We got it.

You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.

    Please help.
    Thanks

  • It is possible to make WordPress working like that. Is the wp-config.php file named exactly like that? Is it located at the website root folder? How about that file rights and owner?

I have always let WP do the wp-config by clicking the button on that screen, and in well over 300 installs on many different servers, local and remote, have never had an issue.

IMHO, that screen is confusing; the next one should be presented first, the one where you fill out the wp-config info. And then, if it can’t create it, give you instructions on how to do it manually.
