• Hello,

    I’m running WordPress 5.4 and am having trouble with getting things to work.

    When I test the connection, I get the error: “Error occurred, unable to check connection.”

    I’m using the following:
    * imap.gmail.com
    * Port 993
    * Connection method: IMAP
    * SSL: Yes
    * Self-signed cert: No (but I’ve also tried this wtih Yes)

    I’ve also enabled IMAP in the gmail account as well as enabled access to to less secure apps but still can’t get things to connect.

    Do you have any suggestions for next steps? Thanks so much.

    FYI – I can connect to mail clients just fine with the credentials I’m using…It just doesn’t work within Bounce Handler MailPoet 3 for me.

    Does this work for anyone who’s using WordPress 5.4.1? I’m still having trouble connecting.

    I’m having the same problem. All ports are open. All login creds are correct for the mail server. I have tried every combination of settings. I’ve deactivated all plugins/themes and it still says error connecting.

    All plugins and themes are up to date as well.

    Please advise.

    Yes, same here. Does not work on 5.4.1.

    Does it work? Try to connect -> Bounce handling connection test is blank whichever fully working pop3 and imap accounts we try. Tried so many but still does not work.

    Also get these fatal errors for the class-mailpoet-bounce-detect.php:74 in the debug logs.

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function imap_timeout() in …/wp-content/plugins/bounce-handler-mailpoet/includes/class-mailpoet-bounce-detect.php:74

    Stack trace:

    ../wp-content/plugins/bounce-handler-mailpoet/includes/class-mailpoet-bounce-detect.php(93): BounceDetect->connect()

    ../wp-content/plugins/bounce-handler-mailpoet/includes/scheduler.php(119): BounceDetect->checkBounce()

    Please please Mailpoet fix this. Thanks.

    I am having the same problem. Does not work. I set it up and put in a fake email, and it did not bounce. I am using mailpoet to send out newsletter.
