• I am building a new site and having trouble with images showing up in the preview of posts. I can’t seem to figure it out. For instance, I made a post test post called “Test Photo #1” and put it in the “Gallery” category that I have which is under “Media.” When I click on the “Gallery” to view, I only see the post title and the text from the post, not the image.

To see the image, I have to click on the post and view it on it’s page.

The only category Ive given it is “Gallery.” Am I totally missing the way that categories and hierarchy works?

    Thanks!

  • I don’t know which Gallery app you’re using, but generally WP will give you a list of Post summaries, which is what you’re seeing, and you do have to view the full Post to see the content. Standard procedure: WP will grab a chunk of your post (or the text excerpt if you fill that in), but I don’t know of a quickie way to get an IMG in the excerpt. Someone else might.

I would check your Gallery’s documentation, and see if there’s a way to get thumbnails in your Post Summary for the gallery.

btw, this is just my opinion, but I was very put off by having the auto-running music. (even though the music actually sounded decent, I strongly, strongly dislike it when the site owner “decides” this for me)

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Im actually not as much worried about the gallery app at the moement, but just seeing the images in my post. I created a “Gallery” category which I want to tag posts with. For some reason I have to click on the post itself to see the image and it doesn’t show up in the post summary or as a thumbnail. Ill look into the post summary situation, maybe that’s the problem.

As for the music, the site is very much a work in progress, I just started it yesterday and the flash music player isn’t even really set up yet, it’s just there for a placeholder. Thanks for your thoughts on that though.

    Cheers
