• I have recently added the Yoast Google Analytics for WordPress plugin to my blog. I have my tracking code in place in Thesis. I keep getting an error message:

We are unable to verify the name associated with this application because it runs on your computer, as opposed to on a website. We recommend you do not allow access unless you trust the application.

I click allow on the Google Analytics site and it kicks me back to WordPress not activated, and I have this message displayed:

Google Analytics is not active. You must select which Analytics Profile to track before it can work.

I have selected the profile and the process repeats?

    My blog: https://www.awardzone.net/blog

Can someone tell me what the problem is?

    Tony

  • have you solved this?

    this might help –> https://yoast.com/wordpress/google-analytics/

i would suggest that you turn OFF the analytics via Thesis, and strictly use the yoast plugin, if you are still thinking to do so.

When you get to the yoast settings, you can manually add your analytics ID, then click “show advanced settings” and scroll down to eliminate admin visits from your stats…

those are the basic settings you need to be up & running with reasonably effective stats.

A late reply but for anyone else scratching their heads at this: I had the same issue today, there is a field to manually add your UA Code – log into GA, jump into the property for your site, then Tracking Info and finally Tracking Code. The Tracking ID (UA-XXXXXXXX-X) is just under the Analytics Education box in the body if you have that visible, otherwise at the top. Slap that guy into the field back in Yoast’s plugin back in your WP installtion and save via the Update button. To confirm, head back to your GA account and refresh the page where you grabbed the code – it’ll show up with a “Tracking Installed” status.

    Hope you got it going!
