trouble with getting wp to install

  • Ok, I’ve uploaded all the wp files to my domain on 1and1 – I’ve changed the wp-config.php file to reflect all the db info and my password. When I put in the browser my domain.net/wp-admin/install.php – ff (or ie) immediately goes to a search engine and won’t recognize the install …??? I’ve deleted all files, redownloaded fixed config file and then reuploaded … no difference – any ideas???

    If you have just purchased your domain, it will take a while for it to propagate on the Domain Name Servers; depending upon where it was registered and your host, this process can take up to 48 hours or longer; generally, your host spells this out in there hosting information. Alternatively, they also provide an IP address where you can access your site until the domain name completes it’s propagation ??

    nope – old domain that I’ve never done anything with –

    So this domain is pointing to the same location as your WP install, or is it pointing to a new location?
