• Apologies in advance if already covered, I could not find anything using search.

Since upgrading to WP 2.0 I’ve noticed that whenever I cut and paste text into a new post, it does weird, unnatural things to the font of subsequent posts. The next problem is there is nothing on the edit toolbar that allows me to modify fonts. Seems like I could do this in WP 1.5.

Is this normal, or is my installation just hosed?

    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

  • From where are you cutting and pasting ?

    Mostly Word.

Word – like most wordprocessors – embeds loads of code in it’s files.
It may look like “The Title” to you when you write it but it also adds which font, the placement, the colour, the size…. and when you copy/paste a lot of that code comes over. You cannot see it, but WP does – and it basically screws the system up.

Is there a way you don’t have to use Word ? A plaintext editor would be problem free.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll do a test using a plain text editor. How about my second question: how do you existing text fonts within the post? Without resorting to html code, I mean. Is there an plug-in or hidden toolbar that I don’t see using the default setup?
