    Hello

The captcha image appears broken in both the wordpress admin add-on plugin section and at the end of the form. When I say “broken” I mean that the captcha does not show any text and it is replaced by an icon.

    Thanks for your help

    Hello,

The issue is caused by your server settings that is managing the captcha as text, and not as image, however, I’ve modified your copy of the plugin to generate the captcha image correctly.

    Best regards.

    Hello

    There is still a problem.

Please note that captcha was correctly working when I tested it for the first time several months ago.

The picture is displayed but it remains static. Changing captcha parameters in the wp admin (noice, number of caracters…) does not work. Cliking the image on the form last page does not provide a new text neither. Typing the text generates a captchafailed message on a blank page.

Can you please check again ? I was wondering also if there is anything I can change on the server side to make it work ?

    Regards,

    Hello,

I’ve modified your plugin’s code to generate a new captcha every time you click on the image, however, as I said previously, your server is identifying the script that generate the captcha image as text, ignoring the header to indicate that it is an image.

    Best regards.

    Hello

I’m sorry but that works… sometimes.

    – most of the times, cliking the image does not change it but sometimes it does
    – typing a wrong code generate a blank page and the user can not retry. Form has to be reloaded.

Can you please check that again ?

    Hello,

I’ve modified the captcha code, and created a new form for testing it (the form 53) and the captcha is working fine.

    Best regards.

Side note and very important question, please do not ignore it @codepeople

I’ve been modifyching your copy of our plugin

    I’ve modified the captcha code

    I’ve modified your plugin’s code

however, I’ve modified your copy of the plugin to generate the captcha image correctly.

Can you explain the details of how exactly you did that? As I’ve said, it’s a very serious question for @codepeople and if he could reply here then I’d like to read it.

    Hello @jdembowski,

I understand your concern, the user @slandoulsi has sent me the access to its FTP and WordPress through my private website, but has continue publishing the questions in the WordPress forum instead our private support system.

In reality the issue with the captcha is caused by other plugin in the @slandoulsi website, the captcha image is generated at runtime, but there is other plugin that is sending character to the browser, and the browser is considering the image as a damaged file.

    Best regards.

So… I understand why you did this but do me a favor: next time please take the rest of the conversation off of these forums. If the user continues to use these forums then let the moderators know on either the #forums Slack channel or tag the topic with modlook.

I’m not accusing you or the plugin user of any ill will and I’m glad that this is sorted out. But many authors use their contact form to skirt around the “no login” rule and this topic did exactly that. It’s not really appropriate for those users and topics to remain in these forums.

If someone seeks support outside of these forums and you engage them then please keep it out of here.
