Trouble with an IFTTT Instagram applet

  • I’ve been using IFTTT applets for quite a while now to create a WP post when I post a new photo to Instagram. Everything with the applet looks fine on IFTTT’s side. On the WP side, the post is correctly created, but the image is not showing up. I’m on Mac OS and Safari, but readers on Windows with Chrome and Firefox are reporting the same thing. I’ve done the usual checks, like disabling plugins, and that didn’t help. Might it be a problem with the iframe HTML tag being generated by the applet?

    The only workaround I can think of right now is to remove IFTTT’s code and just upload the image to the post, but then that rather defeats the purpose of using IFTTT in the first place.

    It appears that iframe embeds from Instagram are no longer allowed by their Content Security Policy (CSP). iframe embeds of third party content are virtually impossible these days due to CSP, unless the third party specifically sets their CSP to allow for it.

    The embed code is adding an extra/in the embed code for me right before “embed” Easy enough to fix but a pain in the a**e…
