    I’m also receiving this error.

Any support would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Having the same issue.

I realized there was an update to the plugin (version 2.5.15, posted yesterday on 11/11/14). After the update, the PDFs are correctly appearing on the page.

Not sure about the other users here, but the update solved my issue with my particular setup.

    Thanks.

I am running version 2.5.15 with still no luck. I even tried a restore to make sure that it wasn’t another plugin update conflicting and nothing.

I’ve been looking into the same issue with the Google Viewer today, it seems to be more fussy about what it will display than it was before. It does work for some PDFs, but many PDFs are not displaying. This isn’t a WordPress specific issue, and it’s hard to tell whether Google is aware of the issue and will fix it.

All – Make sure you’ve read prior threads or the home page of the plugin here on www.remarpro.com. An unexpected Google Viewer update did take a large bite out of GDE functionality (namely the enhanced viewer options) but the plugin does still work. With the current version of GDE installed most of the sample documents on the plugin site work correctly again, though the special functionality like customized colors or changing toolbar options, etc. do not work.

I do see some files are causing problems that Google Viewer used to support, such as ZIP files (though that arguably wasn’t particularly useful).

An additional note: If you’re running 2.5.15 and still unable to embed certain documents (especially PDF), please try loading them directly in Google Viewer to see if the problem is actually on Google’s end rather than the plugin. There do seem to be some problems arising with certain otherwise common looking documents with their latest update.

You can test your document against Google Viewer directly here:

Fix some bugs, add more! ??

Thank you all for the help. I guess we will have to wait for Google to make possible adjustments. I do have another option until then that I can explore until then.

Looks like Google has now broken the PDF viewer completely. I cannot view documents that worked yesterday.

What other options are available for embedding a PDF viewer in WordPress?

I also discovered that if the PDF was not created by an Adobe app the Google Viewer does not want to seem to load it. I went back through for my client and saved the PDF through Adobe Acrobat and it worked fine.

    k3davis,

THanks for chiming in. What I am noticing is that files that used to work directly in google viewer have stopped working. So as I said before this isn’t really WordPress specific. Probably we should go complain to Google, although I’m not optimistic about that panning out.

It’s working again for me today. Looks like Google fixed something overnight!

Same problem here. It used to work fine until I did the last update of the viewer. any solution?

    k3davis

    (@k3davis)

@ykruger, the update of the app restored most basic functionality to all docs after an unexpected update on Google’s end. You are right, however, Google’s new viewer does not support all the documents it once did.

People seem to be having hit or miss results. The new release may still be getting tweaked regularly. Don’t completely lose hope ??

    Hello.

    Please see https://lazystud.com/vlsi-design/

All I get is “Whoops! There was a problem previewing this document.”

is it because of Enhanced Viewer.????
