Trouble using auto upgrade?

  • For those who are interested or new like me, I had searched for over an hour for an answer on how to use the auto upgrade function in v2.8.1 and what info to put where.
    While I had the ‘hostname’ section correct I was using the ftp login for ‘username’ and the ftp password for ‘password’ (I use FireFTP). I found that what I should have done was:
    hostname: https://www.xxxxxxxx.com.au
    username: the cpanel username from your host
    password: the cpanel password from your host

    Once I did that the install went perfectly in about 1 minute.

    password: the cpanel password from your host

    That just happens to work because most ‘cPanel’ hosts make your cPanel login and your prime FTP account to be the same name and password.
