• I am attempting to upgrade to v3.4.

When I put the password in (The same one I use to log on) on the Connection Information page it keeps giving me an error.

Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct.

I did not create this account but I have been tasked to update and make some changes to the site. Is it possible the login pw and the one to allow an update are different? I have other WP sites and I have never encountered this before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Check your FTP credentials with your hosts.

Sorry if I sound clueless… Are my hosts in fact the individuals who made this site before handing it off to me or do I need to get GoDaddy involved as they are the ones who this account is hosted with?

I upgraded all my own sites with pretty much one click. This is the only one where this is happening.

Thanks for responding so quickly last time too. I thought it might be days and as you know there is no contact phone number to a WP Help Desk.

    You need to contact GoDaddy.

    Thank you esmi.

I was able to get the FTP credentials issue sorted out. I was sure I was off to the races…

Unfortunately when I attempt to upgrade automatically the Upgrade WordPress page just states: Installation Failed. Any idea why I might get this message?

I am using the Cadmus Business Portfolio theme. Might that have something to do with it?
