so since 3.6 doesnt let me add or edit my existing galleries for some reason i need to get back to 3.5.. the primary existence of my site depends on these galleries… so heres what ive tried.. i downloaded the 3.5.2 zip, extracted files, then deleted the wp.content folder, then went to my ftp and uploaded the remaining folders which should have overwrote the 3.6.. this did not do a thing for me.. am i missing something??

  • Re-upload all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.6. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Then please continue with your previous topic.

yeah i guess i could try deleting them instead of overwriting.. so i will delete everything other than wp-content but what about the wp-config.php should i erase that too?

    DO NOT delete:

    wp-config.php
    .htaccess
    /wp-content/

    Everything else should be fine.

BTW, what Gallery are you using? NextGen Gallery 2.0 has been a little problematic for many people.

No. The wp-config.php and .htaccess files are specific to your site and are not included in a download of WordPress.

it is showing up as back to version 3.5.2 though, but i get that msg any ideas.. also for anyone else that may want to downgrade later if you are using godaddy it will restore you automatically if you go to webhosting, manage wordpress, then click on the domain, it will give you the option to roll back.. wish i wouldve known this before doing all of this and screwing up my entire site

Hello rob, Did you successfully downgrade to 3.5.2? Can you please share how did you do that? thanks

first if you are using godaddy its very simple.. you just go to launch web hosting and manage wordpress then scroll down and you will see the option to restore previous version.. if you are using a diff hosting then youll have to prob do it the old fashion way.. let me know this first before going into all of the details.. i did it the hard way before noticing the option in godaddy
