    Hi everyone,
I’m working on porting an HTML/CSS template to a WordPress theme for the first time. I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to web design. I know enough to get around though. I’m in the process of learning HTML/CSS/PHP by way of examining other code and some tutorials. The main trouble is with the comments.php file and styling it. I haven’t really looked at comments in WordPress themes, and I don’t have that much experience tweaking WordPress comments (as I do with the loop for instance).

Basically I am asking for general help. If you could post some links to help me out that would be great.

But also, if you are also willing to do this quick task of setting up comments for me in my theme, please contact me and I may send you a small tip.

I would recommend just using the comments.php from the default theme, and then styling it as you need to style it.

Some other 2.7 converted themes can be found here: https://svn.automattic.com/wpcom-themes/

Those might help as examples if you need them.

    Thanks Otto42,
that’s a good idea. I’ll definitely check out some WP 2.7 compatible themes and take a look at the comments.php file.
