Hi Jeff,
Thanks for reaching out. So we can determine more on this and ensure you are able to complete set up please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Can you confirm at what point you see either one of these messages during Site Kit set up. (ie. Directly after clicking on the “Continue” button after selecting your Google account)? As you are encountering different errors please mention which one appears regularly.
- When attempting set up from a Chrome browser incognito window do you see any browser console errors on the same screen where this notice appears? If so please share any such errors.
Once we have the information we can advise on this further. Note that from the other support topic you referenced we didn’t have any response from the impacted user in order to troubleshoot this. The invalid_grant
error is usually as a result of an OAuth token being invalid or expired, with OAuth being the authentication service used by Site Kit to connect your site to the various Google services. The unauthorized_client
error that also related to your OAuth access token.
I can propose some troubleshooting checks once we have the above information. These steps may be to try ruling out third party plugins impacting Site Kit set up or ruling out any hosting related blocks.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
