    Hi everyone,

    I couldn’t find the search button so I’m making a new post…

I had a website up with nothing much in it made with RV site builder, to delete it I just deleted the whole folder (this was my 3rd site on this host so it was under public_html/site name/ )

Ok now this is my first time installing wordpress, I’m trying to do it through cpanel using fantastico and it should be pretty simple except that when I press install it says:

The installation can not be completed:
    – You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

I tried to see if it works when I put in a directory name and it did, but I don’t want my blog to be https://www.sitename.com/blog I want it just to be https://www.sitename.com

    Any help much appreciated!

    Daniel

You’ll be better off in the long run, in my experience, installing WordPress in a directory than in the root. WordPress can be made to look to visitors like it is in the Root (i.e. – just the domain name, without specifying a directory) by (selectively) following (some of) these instructions after you’ve installed:

    Thanks mate

I couldn’t find the .htaccess file (I turned hidden files on) but did the rest and it worked ??

    Hi,

I am having problems pointing my domain to the multiple hosting. Same hosting company, different account, wordpress blog. Can you share the right steps?
