    Hi,

I use this plugin on quite a few sites, and love it.
But lately I have been trouble installing and updating the plugin.
It often stops halfway during the installation or updating proces.
Leaving an unfinished installation. I then have to remove the plugin with ftp and sometimes the only way to get the plugin working is to upload it through ftp.

    Hope you can fix this!

    Thanks
    Joke

    Hi,

This suggestions that your web hosting account disk space is full. When WP installs or upgrades a plugin, all it does is unzips a zip file (the same zip file you can download by hand from the plugin page). So, if that fails, it’s likely that your account is full. (To install UD would need around 20Mb).

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but this does not seem to be the case.
The last site I had this problem with still has about 400Mb of free webspace.
So far it has been only this plugin (but it might be the biggest I use, could be) and on several different websites, and I think hosted by several different webhosts, but I am not sure about that last bit.

I will see if it only happens at this specific webhost. Maybe the problem lies with them.

Anyway, if needed I’ll just do it through ftp. Love your plugin.

    Hi Joke,

If the WordPress installer is having trouble, then you can install via FTP instead.

When WordPress installs a plugin, all it does is:
    1) Downloads the plugin
    2) Unzips it

So, if that fails, you can instead do it by hand – i.e. download it to your PC, unzip it, and upload the contents into wp-content/plugins

    Best wishes,
    David
