    Hello,

I wasn’t able to automatically install wordpress 3.7.1 so I tried to do it manually. This was sucessful but I could not see any posts page because of an error in my theme (stylesheet not loading)and although I could see the home page, I could not see any posts – but when I tried to find the error I ended up with this warning:

Warning: require(/home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php’) in /home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-settings.php on line 21

    The site is: https://bangkokiloveyou.com/

I have deleted the theme as I thought that might be the problem, but that hasn’t helped.

I would appreciate any advice, as I wasn’t able to back up my site due to the error.

    Thank you!

Have you tried: – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try deactivating via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. If applicable, also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – To rule out any theme-specific issue, try switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard. If you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.
resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).
    – If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue, try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!
Always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case.

    Hi Tara,

Thanks so much for your help

I’ve managed to get my home page up and running, but if I click on a link I get this: Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Date_Query’ not found in /home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-includes/query.php on line 2303

Sorry to ask again, but any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Have you attempted any of the basic troubleshootng steps I outlined in my previous reply?

Hi Tara, Deleted all plug ins, put in the Twenty Thirteen template and manually uploaded all the new files, which gave me access to my dashboard again and reactivated the home pages and about page. I am still getting the above error for posts though.

    Thanks,

    Claire

    Glad to know that!

    What’s the error?

The error for posts is: Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Date_Query’ not found in /home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-includes/query.php on line 2303

Really appreciate your help, sorry if I am missing something!

have you checked for any errors in your web server’s error log? They might help by indicating where the problem is.

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me again.

I ran the error log and although there are log files there they don’t contain anything.

I’ve looked through all the wp-content files to try and find some kind of mistake, and I noticed that the set up was slightly different when I compared yesterday’s version to the current version.

I think I must have accidentally over-ridden some of these files when updating.

What’s the best way to deal with this?

I have access to my dashboard still so I can see all my posts are there, they just don’t appear when you click on the individual post link. All I get is:

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Date_Query’ not found in /home/content/66/11608466/html/wp-includes/query.php on line 2303

    Hi Tara,

Thanks again for your help. I repeated the steps you described this morning, including a full re-install of 3.7.1 (not manually this time). Although I lost my template changes, everything else is now up and running.

Thanks for your patience and descriptions of how to sort it out. Very impressed with the speed of response.

    Best wishes,

    Claire
