Trouble having my server talk to WP

    I am connecting my FTp to talk to wordpress from my server. But I have done a manual set up and changed the wp-config file. but I go to my site and put in the name of the folder and get a blank page instead of the wordpress set up page…What could I be doing wrong…I have my database name and password and all that info correct. I uploaded the same version that is on my wordpress site. Any help would be great. Thank you

  • Your FTP details are completely different to your database credentials. Try asking your hosts to confirm your FTP login details.

    Yes they are…I have my ftp info and all my database credentials too.

    I am sorry but the two sets of details are never, ever, the same. Check your FTP details with your hosts.

    My database credentials are different from my FTP credentials..My FTP credentials allow me to login on my server and connect to all the files for the WordPress site. Are you saying my FTP info is wrong or my database info?

    Re-reading your original post again, I think your db details may be wrong or you may have inadvertently created an error in your wp-config.php file. If you did create a wp-config.php file, try deleting it and allowing WordPress to create it automatically.

    Ok thank you I will try to let WordPress do it and see if that fixes it. I appreciate the help thank you.
