    Hey,

I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’ve been using MAMP and WP on my Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard for over a year. I followed the instructions and never had one issue using it.

I recently got a new desktop running Lion and while the MAMP installs fine I can’t seem to get any WP sites to load. When I try the URL I used in Snow Leopard (ex: localhost:8888/SiteName) I get a 404 error.

Web sharing IS on. I created a “Sites” folder (since it was gone with a fresh Lion install). If I go to the IP that it tells me is my site and access the site all I get is a directory listing – but no files work when I click them it just shows the PHP in the browser.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done something wrong along the way – any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks very much in advance,
    Lindsey

Not sure if this helps, but this is the error I get in console when I try to access the localhost:8888/SiteName url

    “11/30/11 3:34:41.000 PM kernel: nstat_lookup_entry failed: 2”

Also, changing the Apache port to 80 does nothing to fix the problem either.

Thanks to @mikesusz on twitter I figured out the issue. I knew I had forgotten something! I had to do the following:

    In MAMP:
Preferences -> Apache -> Document Root

And set the Document Root to my Sites folder.

    Best,
    Lindsey
