• I’m struggling to export by blog.

When i go into tools > export > click on export file I get directed to yahoo messenger instead of a xml file.

    Why is this?

I’m a little exasperated that not one person has offered to help me…what is this forum for exactly? I presume there are experts who use this forum and there are users who may have experienced the same problem. No-one has made any suggestions or pointed me in the direction of a useful site….

Here’s the chat i had with the bluehost.com support team

does anyone know how to go about doing what is suggested in the chat with MAMP???

I don’t know what configuration you might have that could send you to Yahoo Messenger… Yahoo should not be related to it in any way. You can get an .sql backup of the database though. Try opening your terminal and running the following commands.

    mysql -u database_username -p database_name > database.sql

Where “database_username is the username for your database and database_name is the name of your database. It will then prompt for your password which, after being typed in, your database should be exported to the database.sql(or whatever .sql name you choose to name it) file. That file can then be imported into the database on BlueHost through PHPMyAdmin.
