    Hi,

I optimized the images on my site. It’s a photography blog, so there were really a lot of files. I would like to leave the optimized files and delete the original ones to save space on the server. The trouble with this is that clicking the red “delete backups of the original images” doesn’t work. After a while it still shows 127,000 files and the number does not decrease. The space on the server has not freed up either. What could be the problem?

When I click “calculate backups disk space”, it still shows 12 GB to be deleted.

did it response, return or display anything when you click “Remove Original Image Backups” button ?

Yes, at the top of the page showed the message “Removed backups successfully.” After refreshing the page, however, the panel shows the same number of files.

What’s interesting, however, is that the server’s disk space has actually freed up, so maybe it’s just a display-related error.

please check in /wp-content/uploads/ directory , if you see any xxx.bk.jpg file ? with .bk. in middle of filename , it means that is an original backup file
