trouble accessing admin controls after installation

I’m trying to set up my travel blog for the first time and I’m having trouble getting access to wp-admin features. WordPress is installed on my host. I go to the admin login and enter my info. Then I get a blank page. If I go back a page (to the admin login) and I click to go back to my website, it goes to what appears to be my generic wordpress page with admin controls along the top and it appears that I’m logged in (because it allows me to log out) but when I click on any of the admin controls I get a blank page. So far I haven’t been able to access the admin controls at all so I can’t even choose a theme or make a post or anything. Also, I don’t know if this is relevant but I’m from the United States and I’m traveling in the Philippines right now. I’m wondering if my location could be a problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
