Triggering fatal error in 3.6

  • [20-Aug-2013 21:35:24 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in /home2/xxxx/public_html/xxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/instapress/instagram.php on line 306

    Since I updated to 3.6, I’m getting this fatal error, it crashes WP.

    Site does not load (nor admin!) until plugin deleted!

    I don’t have this problem, but think i may have found a solution for y’all.

    Open instagram.php and do a search and replace

    Find: &$

    Replace with $

    You will find 15 occurances.

    I tried the above fix but it now returns saying:

    Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in /home3/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/instapress/widget.php on line 80

    How frustrating!

    Same answer, replace &$ with simply $.
