Thanks for your quick reply. I think it would be good to include the text string, as then you wouldn’t have to use the search results page URL.
Thank you.

In reply to: [ShopWP] What does Search shortcode search? Thanks. For now I’ve just put the vendor in the product title, which may well be a good thing to do for SEO anyway.
Meantime, I have another request – fuzzy search is great. However it doesn’t handle language accent marks well. We have cosmetic products, which often have French names… to a human there is not much difference between “collagen” cream and “collagène” cream – but searching on “collagen” does not find our “collagène” products.
Would be great if search could handle that difference.
Thanks for a great product.

In reply to: [ShopWP] What does Search shortcode search?Ah, I’ve found the location in Settings where the site owner can choose what to search by. But there’s no way to allow site visitors to choose? I think that visitors to my site might be searching either by vendor or by product title – it’s a pity that I have to limit the search to one or the other, not both.
We are also seeing this message:
“Warning: Creating default object from empty value in *****/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 655”
We have only one membership level and it is FREE (so no payment processing set up as yet).
It shows up at the top of any protected page when you are NOT logged in, or any page including a PMP shortcode.
Hope this helps you to resolve it. As we are about to go live this weekend I have had to use the suggestion of going back to the previous version as well.
Okay, thanks for the reply. At least we understand what to expect.

In reply to: Visual Editor ProblemI have just upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3 and have exactly the same problem (using IE7). Visual editor was fine in 2.2.
I have tried to find the source of the problem in the code but I cannot find any mention of “realTinyMCE” in the modules. Perhaps it is buried too deep for a “casual” php coder like myself to spot.
It is very mysterious…. I have searched the forums and found several similar problems with loss of the visual editor, some resolved by removing plugins, some resolved by making changes to .htaccess files and file permissions.
Checking and unchecking “use visual editor” in the user options page seemed to solve the problem for someone.
However, none of these have worked for me and I have decided to revert to 2.2 until there is a solution to this problem. Pity!
I shall keep watching the forums for a resolution….

In reply to: UTW Breaks Visual EditorI installed a plugin and also noted that my visual editor went missing.
However, I also edited my user password at the same time that I activated the plugin, and it seems that this caused the problem.
to quote from another thread:
Ah-ha. If you just go into users->your profile, and click ‘use the visual editor when writing’, you get the visual editor back. Now, it is still a bug that this somehow gets unchecked when you edit the page, but… obviously easy to resolve once you’ve poked around a bit ??
This solved the problem for me!

In reply to: Replacing the default header (oh yes, I’ve searched)Hi all,
I was puzzled over the same header image problem with the Default theme – I was searching the forums for a solution when I came upon this thread.I think the answer is to delete (a bit drastic!) or rename (preferable, I think!) the file called functions.php within the wp_content/themes/default/ folder. I believe this is the culprit which creates the extra style tag within the page header and which overrides the header image.
I’ve tried it here. Now, maybe something has been missed out in recent versions of WordPress (or maybe something has been added in!). Whatever, you can get around it this way.
Mistafeesh, I’m tearing my hair out with the same problem! You say you fixed it by “I basically ‘broke’ the header-img.php file by changing the function name it was asking for to something silly”
Where did you make this change? What file was asking for header-img.php?
Thanks for your help.
