• Recently installed Events Manager to try it out, but the functionality is not right for our needs. When I tried to uninstall it, it was directed to a page that said I had insufficient privileges (!) even though I am the Administrator.
Events Manager no longer shows up in the list of plugins, but still appears in the dashboard and as available menu items. For a WP newbie-how do I get rid of these??
I searched a bit here, but the questions I saw were more advanced that what I’m trying to accomplish – thanks for the help!

  • have you tried wordpress Plugins > Installed Plugins > delete ?

What version of WP are you using? MultiSite?

If you just delete the plugin, you won’t delete stuff from the database, but it’ll stop appearing on your site.

Ok, not THAT much of a newbie ??
Yes, I went through wordpress Plugins > Installed Plugins > delete and got the “insufficient privileges” message.
Latest version of WP (just did the upgrade a day before)
It no longer shows up under Plugins, but still appears in the top menu. I was able to delete the old one and recreate it w/o the Events pages, however they DO still show up as options – i.e. the “delete” wasn’t so thorough.
    Earthshattering? Heck no
    Annoying? you bet

try deleting the plugin folders by FTP, it may be permission related i.e. folder permisisons

Strange, as the folder no longer appears on the server, but the items still appear as available menu options. Some remnant in the database I’m guessing…

    hi,

can you provide a sample screenshots of that?

Not sure how to do that here – but you can see a link above

I also installed the “CalPress Event Calendar”, which is what appears on this list as “calendar”.

if you have two event plugins installed, there’s bound to be problems… most likely because they share the same CPT name. you can change this in EM, but it’s not tested (nor recommended)
