Tried to Secure now getting FTP questions for plugins…

Hello there.

I changed my wordpress install to have 755 permissions throughout the site owned my the local user on my machine and not the webserver _www owner.

I expected to get the FTP question when uploading plugins.

I then however changed the single folder wp-content back to owner _www:_www to get plugins back to be able to be written…

no dice…still have the question asking for FTP access.. I don’t by choice have FTP running. I would prefer wordpress to write in to the directory.

What am I missing?
