Hi there! I hope all is well on your end. I’m a volunteer setting up online ticketing for a nonprofit fundraising event, and after a few hiccups, Event Tickets using Tribe Commerce as a payment gateway seems to be working well. I do have an issue in that tickets totals aren’t updating properly in the shopping cart, if that makes sense. I have no trouble initially adding the correct number and type of tickets, but if I want to change the amount and empty the cart, each subsequent attempt to add tickets ends up adding the number/type of tickets that I added in the initial attempt. So say I add one ticket at $25 then remove it from the cart, then attempt to add a different ticket at $250, the $25 ticket will be the one that ends up in the cart the second time around. This persists until either I clear the browser cache or navigate to the page in an incognito/private window. I’ve tried looking for any sort of caching/cookie related stuff on PayPal’s end to see if anything can be disabled, but I couldn’t find anything. I don’t currently have any WordPress caching enabled. Has anybody encountered this sort of problem before? Any advice you can offer would be super appreciated!

    Have a a wonderful day,
    Ben

  • Hi there,

Tribe Commerce is pretty basic, and once you are sent to PayPal, it is not expecting any changes to be made. When using something like WooCommerce, there is a cart on the actual site that can be edited before interacting with PayPal. This is not a feature available with Tribe Commerce.

This has causes some issues lately, as PayPal now has “continue shopping” link on the payment page that takes you back to the site. However, since our plugin is not expecting any changes to things, it doesn’t process things correctly on our end when the order is finally submitted.

We do have a ticket open for that, and are exploring the best way to handle things. I would recommend using WooCommerce, which would unfortunately require the Events Tickets Plus paid plugin.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,
    Sky
