Trialware and dishonesty?
-
I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this plugin seems to go against WordPress repository guidelines. Let me explain.
It is basically a mix of a trialware and dishonesty wrapped with 60% fake 5 star reviews.
1/ It contains functionality that is restricted/locked, only to be made available by payment or upgrade.
2/ Users must pay to unlock included features.
3/ Another issue I face is if you read all their reviews, it seems 60% of them are fake 5 star reviews. Why do I say this? Because if you check the last 10 reviews, 6 were written by users who just left one single review in their history. After downloading the plugin, spending days with the support trying to make it work, they will basically send you an email explaining that you must pay to use it as a WordPress SSO.
You won’t be able to do anything with this free plugin when installed. The plugin shows notices of “premium features/upgrade” everywhere on the dashboard.
They play borderline by enabling just a few features (incomplete SSO) to make it look like it will work but once you’ve paid a minimum 349 USD/year.
I’m not an expert of www.remarpro.com plugin rules but there’s something wrong here.
We, WordPress users, should find on the repository plugins that are straightforward and transparent in their functionalities and value proposition.
In case you show me I am wrong I will be glad to change this review.
