Travel Mag Style

    I’m looking to put together a travel blog for Fly Fisherman,
    I already have started a site //flytripper.co.uk and have installed the theme “Cool Apricot” I Really like the colours of this theme and would like a static homepage something similar to the Conde Nast Traveller website featuring a photo gallery slider (Already included in the cool apricot theme) with the 3 small feature posts placed below the slider to link to specific articles, my problem is I don’t know how to create these feature posts or a static homepage

    any help would be greatly appreciated
