• Hello,

I like the GeneratePress theme so far. I have a very basic site setup, three .PNG images have transparent backgrounds.

The images display fine, but instead of transparency I see the checkered background that normally indicates a lack of any color.

Will someone please see if they can help me? My site is at elsethserver.ddns.net

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi there,

I see that the images are actually .jpg format so perhaps that’s the issue?

This isn’t something the theme can control or interfere.

    Thanks for the reply.

Can you help me understand how you are seeing these images as .jpg format?

When I view the image in a new tab it shows a .png image. Here’s a link: https://elsethserver.ddns.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/plex-icon-1-150×150.png

I’m not sure what I am missing.

    Thanks!

That one is .png but the other two are .jpg:

I’d say that the images themselves are the problem.

Maybe try making the background the same color as the content background which is just #ffffff?

    Oh I see that now.

The first two are actually .png files and the third is a .jpg file.

I will see about using a solid background color as a solution.

I was more curious if anyone knew why transparency wasn’t being rendered since this would prevent needing to change image backgrounds if the content background ever changed.

Maybe this is beyond the scope of the theme, but either way I appreciate your help.

EDIT: I placed larger .png icons below each section that include transparent backgrounds if this helps clarify anything.

Looks like you got it to work ??

Well I used .PNG images with a white background so it’s more like a workaround I guess.

I’m still curious about the checkered displays on transparent backgrounds on .PNG images.
