I have no idea how this is related but I was removing menu items out of my nav bar in Appearance > Customize > Menus. After I saved and previewed my nav item updates, I noticed the Transparent Header effect stopped working. The nav bar was sitting above the hero image rather than over it.

I turned off each Sticky Header option and then deactivated and deleted this plugin.

I reactivated this plugin and refreshed my page, then proceeded to turn on my Sticky Header options.

The Transparent Header effect still did not work as expected. Applying negative margin works fine when scrolling down but when I scroll up to the top of the page, the header jumps off screen above my hero section —- I know the plugin says adding negative margins is not needed but wanted to test this out.

I’m happy to share screenshots. I was not updating any plugins prior to this, I’m really stumped what caused this to happen.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just an update. For whatever reason, its working now when I add negative margin-bottom to my header section. Rather than not having to use negative margin at all.

Hi, I think I know what’s happening here. The transparent header option makes the header position absolute, so no negative margins are needed, but it also adds top: 0; which is putting it above your hero section. In your case I wouldn’t use that feature and just stick with negative margins if that works.
Screenshots or a link would be useful if you still need need help figuring this out. I’m sure we can get set up how you need.
