• I have been using this plugin for a while and think its great. Good work Tim.

I ran an update on our WPLMS theme and wordpress to version 4.2.2 which recommends and supports your plugin https://support.vibethemes.com/support/solutions/articles/1000186510-translate-using-loco-translate-plugin and as predicted the translations I had setup in the plugin directories for the theme and its associated WPLMS plugins were removed and the translation I was trying to achieve (convert the word Quiz to Test) was removed.

I went through a previous support request concerning persistance and the above WPLMS TIPs post and set up the WPLMS theme and associted WPLMS plugins translations at the Global Language level :-

    wp-content/languages/plugins
    wp-content/languages/themes

I have checked file permissions using your file checker and they are all OK.

The site default language is set to GB and the translation is in GB with the correct MO and PO files saved in the above directories:-

    Theme –
    WPLMS-en-GB.po
    WPLMS-en-GB.mo

    Plugins –
    wplms-front-end-en_GB.p
    wplms-front-end-en_GB.mo
    wplms-dashboard-en_GB.po
    wplms-dashboard-en_GB.mo
    vibe-customtypes-en_GB.po
    vibe-customtypes-en_GB.mo
    vibe-course-module-en_GB.po
    Vibe-course-module-en_GB.mo

I have spent alot of time reading around on WPLMS forums and on your site and WordPress.com as to why my translations are not working. I even went back to storing the translations in the plugin directories and that did not work. All very strange.

Please Please help. This simple one word translation is important.

First of all this WPLMS-en-GB.mo is wrong. The region should be separated by an underscore like your other examples.

Secondly, do you know that WPLMS is the theme’s text domain? This is a non-issue when storing inside the theme folder, but in the global languages directory it must match exactly.

Firstly Tim thanks for coming back at lightening speed you must be one of the busiest people alive developing a new plugin and talking to us. So much appreciated.

Anyway your comment is based on a typo.

    Theme –
    WPLMS-en_GB.po
    WPLMS-en_GB.mo

On the second point I am sure the theme’s text domain is correct. If you look at the Tips Post on the WPLMS forum recommending your plugin they give full installtion instructions at the Global Languages level so I know the text domain is correct.

I have also posted a ticket with WPLMS. I am sure a solution between you and them can me arrived at.

Please can you help. I can give you access details to my site for you to fix but I will need your IP address in order to get you past our development firewall. I also need a secure email address in order to send you the details.

Once your product gets to the point where you think your ready to charge for the plugin please put me on a list. You might also like to take a look at the WPLM plugin in terms of where you might want to take this product.

I can’t accept login details to your server.

I’m rather confused as to where to start with your problem. There are a lot of things going on in your post.

You’ve mentioned five different text domains. Can we narrow this down to the theme to start with …

To confirm – You are saying that wp-content/languages/themes/WPLMS-en_GB.mo exists and is valid i.e. that it’s named correctly, in the right location and contains your translated strings. But you are saying that your theme is not loading this file, or at least not displaying its translations. Is this correct?

ok sad about the server details would help.
The WPLMS theme is a learning management system (very good one) for WordPress and is:-
    one theme = WPLMS
4 WPLMS Plugins (mandatory to install) that run specific learning management features –
I need to make the translation in the WPLMS theme and the 4 WPLMS plugins. This I have done as described earlier to know effect. The thing is as explained this used to work until update of wordpress and WPLMS theme and plugins as listed.
The theme does not seem to be picking up these translations at theme and WPLMS plgin level.
If a solution is found to this I will post this on the WPLMS forum as I am sure many others will need this advice.
Once again thanks for being a star on the support.

I asked you to confirm a check list of things. You didn’t reply to these points.

    The following file:

    wp-content/languages/themes/WPLMS-en_GB.mo

Does it exist? and is this the correct name and location for your theme to find it?

    Thread Starter kevin008

    (@kevin008)

Agree on narrowing down to the theme to start with.

I can confirm this exists wp-content/languages/themes/WPLMS-en_GB.mo

I can also confirm wplms-en_GB.mo is valid. It was creatied via your tool.

The WPLMS theme unlike the recent past is not picking up this translation.
    Sorry for not confirming.

Shame I cant buy you a beer ??

Your confirmation includes different cases. Which is it, upper or lower?

If the path really is correct then the fault is not with my plugin. Once the file is saved, its job is over. It’s not involved in loading translation files at “runtime”, so if the file is valid then something else is wrong.

    (@kevin008)

I think your right. I think you would help if you could. It is valid and its either a plugin conflict or something wrong with the theme.

    Hi Kevin..

Have you sorted the problem out?
