    Hi there,
I’ve translated the plugin Event Tickets (a plugin by EventBrite). As you can see on the frontend it says ‘x Spots left’ and RSVP NOW!

I beleive that after a WP update my Dutch translations ‘Beschikbaar’ and ‘Reserveer’ are gone, despite i can find them in the Loco translation.
Somehow it doesnt take effect on the front end.

I’ve also tried with uploading the mo and po files to the wp-content/languages/plugins and /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets folder, to no effect.

    What to do???
    Rob

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Your installed translations do not contain the strings you mention. This file was last updated in November and is not up to date with the event-tickets plugin. This is why your text is in English.

I see that the “author” translations on your site have been overwritten by what appears to be your own translations.

    https://www.filmhuishofdael.nl/wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/lang/event-tickets-nl_NL.po

    1. This file won’t be used as you have other translations installed.
    2. You should not save over files inside the plugin directory.

Please read the documentation on file locations: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/manual/msginit#locations

I suggest you move the more recent files to Loco Translate’s custom directory so they take priority over the [older] installed languages files.

    Hi Tim,
    Sorry for being stubborn…
If you could take a minute to watch this screencast:
    https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cFlUDTrP39

So far I have only worked with Loco and didn’t save files in the suggested languages/loco directory.
Inside Loco there are two translation files which have different completeness percentages:

    Plugins Event Tickets event-tickets-nl_NL.po 100%
    Plugins Event Tickets event-tickets-nl_NL.po 46%

The problem is with the RSVP Now! button, which i can find and is translated, in the 46% file. But this file is not being loaded, obviously.

    Regards,

Your screencast demonstrates perfectly what I have told you.

The “system” file (which is out of date) will take priority over the “author” file (which you should not edit).

The solution I’ve given still applies.

Tim, it’s driving me nuts. Sorry.
At some point i was moving files around and suddenly it worked. But then WP asked me to update translations (which i did), and now all is lost again. And I can’t replicate what I did.
Is it possible that you take a look under the hood? That would be great and the movie community in Geldrop would be grateful!

Logging into your site is beyond the level of support available.

I’ve explained your problem as clearly as I can and linked to detailed information about file loading order. There is no mystery in what your screencast shows and I’ve given you a solution that prevents it from happening.

I understand Tim. I’m glad that in my final effort, i managed to get it work again. I stored my custom translation in the /loco/plugins folder.
    Thanks for your patience.

    Rob
