• I saw multiple posts on this forum about the free shipping notice that doesn’t get translated when switching across languages. On my side, I use WPML and I faced the same problem.

However, I noticed something : if you simply switch language, the notice will not get translated BUT if you perform a cart update (by clicking on Update Cart), then the free shipping bar will update.

I think you should check here why it needs a cart update for the shipping bar to get translated, instead of being translated simply by page refresh.

    Hi @jeriss,

Thanks for reaching out regarding the WPML and free shipping notification.

The issue might be related to a theme you are currently using in your store. To check if there is no conflict, please temporarily install and enable Storefront the official WooCommerce theme, and see if the problem persists.

Alternatively,?the issue may be related to some other plugin used in the shop.?Especially the caching plugins.

Please disable plugins which are not ours or the WooCommerce itself.?Then please enable plugins one by one,?deleting cache, and check if the issue still occurs.

After checking the above, please?let me know about the outcome.

    Kind regards,

    Piotrek

The problem has been reproduced on :

    • default Storefront theme
    • minimal install (only WooCommerce, WPML CMS and Flexible Shipping)

    Here is a video :

    Steps to reproduce :

    • Open the staging Catalogue
    • Add any product to cart, then go to the cart
    • Check the language of the free shipping bar
    • Switch between French cart and English cart (you’ll notice the language doesn’t change)
    • Then adjust quantity and hit “update cart (you’ll see the language then changes)

So basically, in order for the free shipping bar to update its language, it requires to hit “UPDATE CART” whereas we as users simply expect that a page refresh is enough to update the language of the free shipping bar.

Can you please resolve this issue ?

Thank you for providing steps and details. Since WPML is a premium plugin, we don’t have access to it. Our team would require access to your site. Please don’t share them here.

May I kindly ask you to reach us out via our support form, where we can exchange necessary details via email?

In your request, please provide the link to this thread so it’s faster to provide the support for you.

You’re asking me to log a ticket on your website which is for your PRO version. I’m not using your pro version, I’m using the free version. So in this case you’re supposed to provide support of the free version on this forum here, not on your website.

You say you don’t have WPML plugin to test but you claim “WPML and Polylang compatibility” on this plugin’s page. If you claim that, it means you have the possibility to test it, otherwise it’s false claim if you have no ability to maintain this compatibility at all times.

I can provide a staging access here, which would have no data and be functional only 1-2 days max for testing purpose, then would disappear.

That’s correct. This forum is designed to support our free plugins. However, in cases when we need to access a site, it’s safer to pass such credentials via email. Even if you prepare a staging access without sensitive data, and paste the credentials here, it’ll be publicly exposed to everyone.

This is the main reason for asking you to send a message via our support form.

Regarding the WPML and Polylang compatibility. Indeed, our plugins are tested, and we know from our customers’ experience that our Flexible Shipping plugins (both the free and the PRO) are compatible with WPML and Polylang. However, they are still 3rd party plugins. Their configuration, updates, or bugs can affect the compatibility. The same applies if you use additional 3rd party plugins.

This is the second reason to access your staging site.

Lastly, we’re not recreating it on our test sites nor any other customer reports a similar issue. Therefore, it’s crucial for our team to be able to access your staging site safely.

    Kind regards,

    Piotrek
