I want to translate this document with Poedit. I go to wp-content/languages. I find ru_RU.po file.

I translate it with Poedit, save. And upload new ru_RU.po and ru_RU.mo to wp-content/languages. The system says that it will replace old files with new ones – I press OK.

But the new translation doesn’t appear at the website. It’s still old. How to fix it?

It’s possible the old translation you are seeing is actually coming from one of the many related .json language files. Or you’re seeing cached page content. Whether from .mo or .json files, or cache, it’s inadvisable to alter core WP files that way. You’re better off using the “gettext” filter hook to alter specific phrases that you’re not happy with.

I will try to translate with ?“gettext” filter hook, thank you!

But now I have another problem. I wasa translating one plugin with Poedit normally and uploading new translation with file commander. But after that I translated one word with Loco. Now if I translate something with Poedit it’s not working absolutely. Loco was deactivated and deleted but I can’t translate without it.

What how it’s working now: I change the translation with Poedit, upload it with file manager, install Loco. With Loco I open the translation file. Loco sees the new version, of the file. But it is still not seen on the website. I don’t change anything with Loco, I just save the file.

After that I delete Loco. And finally I can see the translation at the website.

How to delete Loco cache or .json files or whatever which makes such a mess?

I cleared normall cache of the website but it doesn’t work

I’m not familiar with how Loco works. I recommend seeking advice through the plugin’s dedicated support forum where the plugin’s author is in a better position to help you. Please do make note of their pinned topics before posting a new topic there.
