Translation not working

    Hi, i put .po and .mo files in wp-content/languages/plugins/GDPR folder (i needed to create that GDPR folder inside the wp-content/languages/plugins folder) and i don’t see that translated strings.

    Also where can i send the translated files for Croatian language, if you need that translation ??

  • @ivanko123 Can you try placing .po and .mo files in wp-content/plugins/GDPR/languages folder?

    Can you also upload translation to some file hosting and send me the link? I’ll take care of Croatian translation.

    Hi @ivanko123

    There are a few topics similar to yours that you can find a solution. I’m not sure if you need the GDPR folder inside the wp-content/languages/plugins. You can check those topics and find out what worked for others.

    Ideally, translations should be submitted here. That way a WordPress Croatian translation editor can verify the translations are correct and following the WordPress guidelines and approve them. After 95% of the translations are approved, the language will be available for everyone.

    Hi!!

    I submitted the translation via official route.

    I still don’t have plugin showing translated strings,i don’t know how much you can help me with this.

    I don’t have WPML plugin installed,
    i uploaded .po and .mo files in:
    wp-content/plugins/gdpr/languages
    wp-content/languages/plugins/gdpr
    and in:
    wp-content/languages/plugins
    where i have regular hr_HR.po and hr_HR.mo files but also gdpr-hr_HR.po and gdpr-hr_HR.mo, or renamed files. All withouT a result. There is no cache plugin active in WP installation.

    @ivanko123 Now I see where is the problem. .po and .mo files need to be named hr.po and hr.mo

    hr_HR is not valid.

    I am sorry for trouble, but i have no luck.

    I have hr.po and hr.mo in all the folders:
    wp-content/plugins/gdpr/languages
    wp-content/languages/plugins/gdpr
    wp-content/languages/plugins
    but i still don’t have translation.

    Also the plugin is not showing the Privacy Policy page that i configured in plugin settings but the homepage. You can see the site:

    OK, I’ve tested it and found the solution.

    Rename files to gdpr-hr.po and gdpr-hr.mo and place them in \wp-content\languages\plugins

    If it works for me it should work for you too.
