• Hello there,

We found a weird bug. We have a plugin (Jupiter Donut) required to use the premium theme Jupiter. We tried to translate couple of strings and after saves them nothing looks translated on the frontend. We created our new language on custom location.

So, we tried to find why and we finally tried to move our language to author location and its working.

So we are wondering if we do need author translation to use custom location ? We prefer to don’t use author location to prevent being override in a future updates.

Not as far as my custom file loader is concerned. LoadHelper.php looks at every translation file being requested and checks if another one with the same name exists in its custom location. The existence of the original file is not a factor.

This just tells me that your theme doesn’t bootstrap its translation files in a way that Loco Translate is able to override. There is a FAQ about this, but presuming this is a commercial theme I can’t offer help debugging it for you.
