Hello, in the po file, have you clicked on Update? Before to translate the file so you will have all the latest strings.

Oh you translate your child theme, not the parent theme, you need to translate the parent theme for that.

Hmm, I didn’t know that and never read that anywhere. Could you explain why? do I always need to translate the parent of any theme?

Thanks, I will try and let you know.

Yes, if you want to translate a theme or plugin, you need to translate it via the pot file inside the languages folder of the theme or plugin, if you try to translate via a child theme, only the word inside the child theme will be translated.

What happens if I update the theme? will the translations be lost or I would just have to sync them using loco translate sync button?

The problem persists… I made sure the parent theme is translated.

Hello, you can send me the file and I will directly include them in the theme so you will always hae them.

The translation doesn’t work? Which words?

Thanks for your help, I’ve been trying to look for a solution for this for a while now.

https://imgur.com/a/kdfnl8U – Notice the add to cart and category, they do not appear translated in the frontend even though they have a translation in the backend, there is an example in that image for the add to cart button that is translated.

There is also another string in the cart: https://imgur.com/a/BU3WvWJ – “Shipping” – I think this one comes from a bad translation of Woocommerce even though the Woocommerce Hebrew translation comes with 100% translated strings. I think I encountered this before at some point and I fixed it by manually adding translating the string in the PO file of woocommerce but it would be nice if you can confirm if you’ve encountered this problem in the past, this only happened to me using OceanWP + Woocommerce.

    Thank you!

Hello, for the Add to Cart button and the Category word, it is from WooCommerce, not the theme.

Yes, it comes also from WooCommerce.

I think I’ve found the problem, it’s so silly that it’s annoying ??

My website’s language was set to Hebrew but my interface (wp-admin) was set to English in my user and that’s what causes ONLY the Quick View Add to cart and Category strings to show in English, if I switch my user language (wp-admin) to Hebrew then I see those strings translated!

Are you sure it’s a WooCommerce bug? seems more like a quick view plugin bug that checks the user language instead of the site language.

    Thanks

Hello, the add to cart and category are still not translated? Can you create a pre-purchase ticket on oceanwp.org and send me the login details of an admin account, add your dashboard in English or I will not understand it ??
    Thank you.

    I just did, thanks.

    The same problem in Quickview:
“My website’s language was set to non-English but my interface (wp-admin) was set to English in my user and that’s what causes ONLY the Quick View Add to cart and Category strings to show in English, if I switch my user language (wp-admin) to Hebrew then I see those strings translated!”

    additionally:
    – if user is NOT LOGGED IN – translation is ok.
    – if user is LOGGED IN – strings “Category” and “Add to cart” is not translated to non-English. (shows in English).
