    Thanks for contacting us.

    Simply go to
    Settings > General
and then look near the bottom for the Site Language selector. You must have at least wp 4.0

    Good afternoon Spencer,

Since I’m Dutch-speaking, everything is already set to the dutch language. This is nog the problem.

The plugin is translated in the back-end, yet it doesn’t show this translation in the front-end.

    What could be the problem?

    Kind regards,

    Roy

OK, think I’ve figured this out.

Do you have nl_NL.mo and nl_NL.po files in your wp-content/language folder that you got from wordpress?

Make sure they are names noted above, then go to the settings / general and select the Duetch Language.

I know you said that the plugin is translating on the backend but not the frontend. The text on the front end should autotranslate based on your computer language settings. Can you please send me an example link or photo so I can see what is going on. We also may need to add some additional code to fix a few of the Text items on the front page.

FYI we have made a few updates and we need to add new POT files to our glotpress for translating. I will add these in the next couple days and maybe you can help fill in the gaps.

We should be making an update today that will fix the translation of the words ‘View on Facebook’.

Additionally I have updated our glotpress with additional words that need translating for the FREE and premium version. Any help you can give will be much appreciated and rewarded.

Update to 1.6.6 is available. This will show the proper language for ‘View on Facebook’ on the front end too.

    Goodmorning Spencer,

    Thanks for all your replies!

I’ve just updated to 1.6.6 and the ‘view on Facebook’ is translated correctly now. Yet the rest of the plug-in is still displaying in English.

    We did the following checks:

    – We’ve viewed the website on both of our computers (one in Dutch/one in English), both of them displayed English (except for the ‘view on Facebook’.
    – Our WordPress is updated to 4.1 and is set to Dutch. Everything in the backend is displayed in Dutch.
    – Just to be sure, I also added WP_LANG etc.
    – The proper language files are in place in the wp-content/language folder.

This is the link where you’ll find the Facebook feed: https://prtesting.nl/nutenvermaak/media/socialmedia/

    What to do next?

    Thanks in advance,

    Roy

The feed is also not displaying the photos people post on Facebook, is there someting I could do about this?

    Roy,

You don’t need the WP_LANG in the wp-config file in 4.0 and above for wordpress. That could be causing some issues.

I see the view on facebook is translating on my end. That is the only thing that is translated on the front end. The rest of the translation should happen in the settings page.

Make sure and follow instructions here. https://www.slickremix.com/docs/translating-our-plugin/1/

If you are still having troubles please email us at [email protected] so we can help you further. Please include a screenshot of the wp-content/languages folder and the contents inside so we can verify the naming is proper on the language files.

As for the some photos not showing, this had been a huge facebook problem for years now in groups. We and many other have submitted requests to get this fixed and still facebook has not done anything, to our knowledge, to fix it. It has to do with permission problems within facebook groups. We can do nothing to until facebook steps up and fixes the issue unfortunately.

Sounds good, I got the email. I’m going to post reply here so others might benefit if they are experiencing a similar problem.

Your files should look like this nl_NL.mo and nl_NL.po … as you have in your languages folder already… remove the other ones if you can, and the selection should say Deutsch not Nederlands. Let me know if you still have troubles, we’ll get it figured out ??
