I’m displaying the cookie policy in a modal with the help of another plugin WP post popup. I just add a css class in the menu link.

I’ve noticed that when the cookie policy opens in the modal, it displays the “original” English version of the text, no matter the language I’m in. If I remove the modal, and opens as a normal page, then the text is translated properly (in French in my case). Any ideas why this is happening?

    Hi @vourlismenos,

Complianz will use the Site Language that you configure under Settings > General in WordPress as the language of your Legal Documents and Cookie Banner.

And if your site has multiple languages, you can use a multi-language plugin such as PolyLang or WPML to create multiple language versions of your document.

So, you will most-likely need to indicate within your multi-language plugin that the pop-up content should be translated to French, instead of using the default Site Language.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi @jarnovos. I am using polylang and everything is configured.
All pages have translations, the widgets are language specific, the menus have been translated as well.

The only thing that affects it, is the use of a modal window or not. Without the modal the translation works properly.

    Hi @vourlismenos,

I tried the WP Post Popup plugin, and this appears to work correctly for me. You might have to disable the “Use Rest API Method” setting in the WP Post Popup plugin for this to work.

Please see my example page below, where you will find two modal/pop-up windows containing the Cookie Policy: one in the Site Language (English) and the other one translated to Dutch (PolyLang): https://zudragonfly-nagi.instawp.xyz/sample-page/

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @vourlismenos,

Thanks for confirming, glad to hear that did the trick for you as well. I’ll mark the thread as resolved.

If you’re happy with the plugin and our support; it would be really great if you could consider casting a review here.

    Kind regards, Jarno
